Focused Intervention Funding
‘A non-statutory, discretionary funding system designed to support children and young people (CYP) with emerging needs and for CYP who have needs that fall outside the EHCP process.’
In DSPL5 we have divided the area into 3 Clusters. It is an expectation that SENCOs shall attend all 6 half-termly meetings. You will discuss your application/s with the group and listen to applications from others. You must attend to discuss your application or it will not get heard. Advice, recommendations and mentoring amongst peers will take place and those applications that have been agreed will be brought to the final panel meeting. Decision letters to settings will be issued as usual by the DSPL5 Manager.

Group FIF
From September 2026 you will be able to apply for Focused Intervention Funding to support a group of students. The funding allocated will be £3000 per term for a maximum of 3 terms. Below are some of the criteria:
- As this is HNF we would expect each child to either be on the SEND register or being supported for a SEND/SEMH need.
- Group applications are for a maximum of 6 children; all children need to be identified in the same form
- The application MUST identify a specific intervention that meets the needs of all the children within the group
- The intervention MUST be above OAP and adaptive teaching
- The length of intervention/funding being requested MUST be identified
- The application MUST identify the expected impact for those children accessing the group intervention
Please download the relevant application form below. All FIF applications should be emailed to dspl5fif@greenlanes.herts.sch.uk
