Welwyn Hatfield Hub
The Welwyn and Hatfield Hub, based at Swallow Dell Primary School in Welwyn Garden City, operates as DSPL 5's behaviour in-reach for mainstream and primary aged children across Welwyn and Hatfield who are experiencing significant social, emotional and mental health needs and or whom all other avenues of support have been exhausted.
The Hub lead is David Wragg. David and his experienced team offer two terms of nurturing provision for children who attend The Hub. The aim is for all children who attend to be provided with enough bespoke support in their two terms of attendance to then reintegrate back into their mainstream setting. Children on dual registration and The Hub will work closely with the child's 'home' school during the two terms and during the reintegration process that happens following this.
Admission to The Hub lies at the end of DSPL5’s tiered approach to behaviour support. The starting point for all behaviour support (including admission into The Hub) is through DSPL5’s fortnightly triage meetings.
